The Opportunity
The Senior Director of Brand Development drives revenue through strategic partnerships with key retail accounts. This role requires a consultative approach, building deep client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities to design and implement tailored campaigns that meet client objectives. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights and innovative solutions to consistently deliver results that exceed revenue targets.
Responsibilities
Achieve revenue goals by being a trusted marketing consultant, leveraging industry-leading innovation to align with client strategies and drive growth.
Develop and implement go-to-market strategies that align with client objectives, ensuring long-term revenue growth and client penetration across multiple retail accounts.
Design, sell, and manage targeted marketing campaigns using insights and custom research, delivering measurable success against client KPIs.
Utilize shopper intelligence databases to provide a deeper understanding of client challenges and opportunities, developing tailored solutions that meet business objectives.
Leverage advanced analytics to evaluate and optimize campaign performance, ensuring high ROI and making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Build and manage relationships across multiple clients and functions (brand marketing, field sales, consumer promotion) at all levels, becoming a trusted partner.
Proactively address client needs by confirming objectives, conducting regular strategy sessions, and offering consultative guidance to align campaigns with their KPIs.
Develop business plans that include Omni-Channel solutions and new advertising capabilities to increase client penetration and sustainable revenue growth.
Manage accounts, including revenue forecasting, program management, budgets, and accounts receivable, ensuring efficient operations and financial management.
Mentor and coach team members, sharing expertise in consultative sales, marketing strategy, and data analytics to elevate overall team performance.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless program execution, managing budgets, and achieving business goals through strong team coordination.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
5 to 8 years of experience in consultative sales, brand development, or marketing with a focus on driving revenue growth and managing strategic client relationships.
Proven expertise in developing and implementing go-to-market strategies, aligning business plans with long-term revenue growth objectives.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data-driven insights, shopper intelligence databases, and advanced analytics to optimize marketing campaign performance.
Experience managing marketing campaigns that deliver measurable results against client KPIs, with a track record of successful campaign design and execution.
In-depth understanding of the retail and CPG industries, with the ability to provide consultative guidance and tailor solutions to meet client business objectives.
Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint, with familiarity in using syndicated data tools such as Nielsen, IRI, and Catalina for data-driven decision making.
Exceptional relationship management skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships across multiple functions (brand marketing, field sales, consumer promotion) and at all organizational levels.
Strong financial acumen, including experience in revenue forecasting, program management, budgeting, and accounts receivable to ensure efficient operations.
Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to coach and develop team members in sales strategy, marketing, and data analytics.
Track record of leveraging innovation, using cutting-edge solutions and industry trends to create value for clients and stay ahead in a competitive market.
Willingness to travel overnight as needed, to meet with clients, strengthen relationships, and ensure the success of marketing initiatives.
