The Opportunity
The Director, Workday Financials and HCM will report to the Corporate Controller with exposure to the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Senior Leadership Team. He/she will be part of a high-performing team and will be responsible for ensuring that the technology and tools implemented in the Finance and HR business areas support leading practices and processes for Catalina’s financial processes and reporting requirements. The position is instrumental in overseeing the prioritization, assessment, selection, planning, execution, and support of Financial and HRIS related systems across multiple countries. The Director will partner with multiple departments including Finance, IT, Human Resources, outside consulting resources and respective business teams to set direction and determine priorities for the development and ongoing management of business solutions and tools.

Direct and administer Workday Financials for a broad range of system operational Finance functions, including, but not limited to, operational accounting and financial reporting, consolidations, foreign currency transactions, fixed assets and capital projects, and financial planning and analytics.
Direct and administer Workday HCM for a broad range of system operational HR functions, including, but not limited to, compensation and benefits, onboarding and offboarding, employee-related documentation, people systems, data and analytics.
Directly manages HR Service Representatives and Workday Financial and HCM Administrators.
Drive prioritization for Workday projects for the global business while ensuring system and business objectives are understood and met. Responsible for understanding and communicating the potential use of new Workday technology which could be utilized to drive company initiatives and industry best practices and trends.
Lead the development of project plans and scenarios related to the testing and implementation of system upgrades or patches through collaboration with functional and technical colleagues to coordinate application of upgrade or fix.
Maintains the integrity of the existing structure, security and data within Workday. Collaborates with functional and technical colleagues to coordinate application of any upgrades or fixes (maintains system tables and configures approved changes, documents process and results, performs bulk data loads to Finance and HR Systems as needed).
Ensures the various Financial and HCM tenants are maintained according to a documented tenant management strategy. Ensures support materials are updated and changes communicated appropriately.
Identify areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new policies are needed to ensure integrity of internal controls and adherence to regulatory changes for the global business.
Responsible for meeting appropriate compliance requirements as it relates to financial reporting.
Assist in annual external audit by providing support as needed for IT related requests.
Actively participates in Financial and HCM community to identify best practices to address existing issues and enable process improvements.
Continuously evaluates support structure with the mindset of putting the right work in the hands of the right people.
Manage and perform ad hoc analysis or special projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Information Systems or Computer Science, Master’s preferred.
5+ years of experience with Workday Financials and HCM. Experience with Hyperion desirable.
10+ years of experience planning and managing financial related systems development, implementation, testing and support.
Expertise with Workday Studio integrations and Workday BIRT Simple, Advanced, Composite, and Matrix reports preferred.
Experience with Workday to include demonstrated experience with Workday security, tenant management, custom report creation, and inbound/outbound integrations using Core Connectors, Cloud Connector, EIB and Workday Studio required.
Strong knowledge of financial operations and processes.
Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP, SOX and internal control compliance.
Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly with regard to anticipating and solving issues or concerns before they occur or become critical.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, shifting priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously towards agreed upon goals and target dates.
Anticipates, identifies & escalates issues that may prevent deliverables or introduce risk; enforces root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Strong knowledge of software development and project management methodologies and practices. Experience with Agile, Scrum and/or Kanban project management methodologies is desirable.
