Reporting to the Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager, the Senior Accountant serves as a unique opportunity to interact with key executives and gain exposure to the Finance Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be a part of a high-performing team, lead, and take ownership of their responsibilities while ensuring accurate and timely completion of company reporting requirements. They should collaborate across functions, explore new ways of working, and support process improvements to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities
Efficiently and accurately close the books for Domestic entities, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
Directly responsible for tracking, recording, and paying Retailer and 3rd Party Revenue Share.
Establish and refine processes related to new Product Offerings to ensure the accuracy of revenue and direct costs entries in accordance with US GAAP.
Own capital process which includes creating and maintaining capital projects from a financial standpoint and working with Tech partners for compliance.
Work as liaison between Finance and Sales to resolve issues and support the team to achieve the goals of the Company.
Conduct and document independent research using either US GAAP or Catalina Accounting Policies for technical accounting considerations.
Prepare variance analyses for monthly trial balance review meetings and actual vs. forecast meetings.
Demonstrate attention to detail in both preparation and review of accounting workpapers and account reconciliations, identifying any misstatements as the initial step in the review process.
Design, maintain, and ensure continual adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
Consistently work towards improving personal organizational and time management skills to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Assist in the implementation of any new FASB accounting pronouncements.
Provide suggestions and advice for our standard processes, challenge current procedures, and propose enhancements from the perspective of process improvement or error rectification.
Assist with external audits by conducting audit PBCs and ad hoc requests, as needed.
Provide insight and review on the work of Accountant I/IIs and collaborate with them to implement improvements in their journals, adding value to the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
A minimum of 4 years accounting experience required.
Understanding of full cycle financial statement audits and/or SOC examinations
Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards
Strong IT skills and exposure to ERP systems required.
Familiarity with the laws, regulations, policies, and standards described above, including prevailing best practices and techniques.
Ability to analyze complex situations and make sound judgements.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Adept at prioritization and sense of urgency
Additional Preferred Skills:
Prior exposure/usage of Workday and Hyperion
CPA (active- strongly preferred) and/or CISA
Advanced Excel skills
Prior SOC exposure and experience
Multinational company experience
Familiarity with digital advertising landscape
