Senior Accountant - Compliance

The Senior Accountant will report into the Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager and serves as a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the Finance Senior Leadership Team as well as interface daily with key organizational executives including but not limited to the Extended Catalina Leadership Team and Human Resources. He/she will be a part of a high- performing team and will be expected to lead, take ownership of his/her areas of responsibility, and ensure accurate and timely completion of company reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is one who collaborates across multiple functions, explores and embraces opportunities for doing things in new ways and initiates, and/or supports improvements in work processes to increase efficiency.
Design, maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with accounting policies and procedures and internal control documentation
Maintain a financial compliance matrix for the Company to document compliance requirements and designated compliance owners
Support compliance program project management with the annual risk assessment, fraud assessment, projects, and reporting needs
Assist in the implementation of any new FASB accounting pronouncements
Work closely with leadership and compliance owners to identify compliance issues and collaboratively develop recommendations and response plans for issues of noncompliance.
Identify, document, and test key internal controls over financial reporting, including IT General Controls and/or Business Process Application Controls
Provide risk-based recommendations to addressing control gaps, as needed
Manage internal control walkthroughs and document the outcome
Assists external audits with conducting the audit PBCs and ad hoc requests, as needed
Assists Corporate accountants with month-end close tasks, as needed
Support audit liaison tasks, as required
Support ad hoc reporting and other projects, as needed
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of two years public accounting experience
Understanding of full cycle financial statement audits and/or SOC examinations
Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards
Strong IT skills and exposure to ERP systems required
Familiarity with the laws, regulations, policies, and standards described above, including prevailing best practices and techniques
Ability to analyze complex situations and to make sound judgments and decisions.
Exhibits strong leadership within the role, is an active owner in development, and is accountable to being part of a high performing team.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to work and interact well with others, able to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
Excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills.
Adept at prioritization and understanding sense of urgency.
Additional Preferred Skills
Prior exposure/usage of Workday and Hyperion
CPA (active) and/or CISA
Advanced Excel skills (strongly preferred)
Prior SOC exposure and experience
Multinational company experience
Familiarity with digital advertising landscape
