Catalina Marketing is looking for a Agile Product Owner II to join our Catalina HUB Scrum Teams.  You will be working with a talented cross-functional team consisting of: Product and Platform Managers, Agile Scrum Teams, Technical SME’s and Stakeholders to bring the “voice of the customer” to life with actionable requirements and drive future state business and technology innovation.

The Product Owner II, is responsible for capturing, defining, and prioritizing product backlog items in coordination with Product Managers and key stakeholders to deliver on planned work through an Agile development framework. Understanding the desires of the customer and the capabilities of the technology in Catalina’s omni-channel consumer targeting realm is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UI/UX team, product scrum team, and product leaders to establish release goals, prioritize backlog and release timeline(s)

  • Scoping programs, systems, and process engineering efforts.  Work with key product/platform/business stakeholders to formulate the business vision, frame initial requirements, and scope the project. 

  • Represent your stakeholders.  Work with and understand your customer perspectives when gathering and understanding requirements, domain information, and business priorities.  Work on their behalf with the platform engineering teams to verify, validate, and arrive and a holistic solution.

  • Translate business or customer needs.  Work with the customer to elicit and distill requirements and perspectives from different sources and integrate and refine the information into a consistent vision, direction, and outcome for a technical development or organizational change.

  • Translate technical issues.  Explain technical/architectural complexities to project stakeholders; understand and communicate technical or project-plan impact to requirements.

  • Elicit, model, and document requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: use cases, mockups, business rules, and workflows.

  • Assist product and platform engineering teams in determining the direction, logical functions, and use cases for their projects.

  • Work collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and business analysts across multiple initiatives in arriving at ground-level requirements. 

  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of business analysis best practices in order to propose changes to evolve the Business Architecture team and processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the related field of study with 3+ years of experience in product ownership or business analysis in the technology-related industry, management consulting, or related field.

  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into the application and operational requirements.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements.

  • Ability to rapidly understand complex business processes.

  • Ability to learn quickly and easily grasp complex concepts required to build subject matter expertise.

  • Proven experience creating effective business requirements and user stories.

  • Experienced with a variety of software development methodologies and techniques including Agile, Waterfall, and Gherkin.

  • Ability to utilize data, analysis, and user feedback to make decisions and influence others.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, lead and complete several projects and initiatives successfully.

  • Strong individual contributor with the ability to function as a strong team player.

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills that allow you to clearly articulate and simplify complex processes.

  • Strong negotiation skills required. Must be able to drive consensus among partners with varying priorities.
