Our Team

The Global Governance, Security and Privacy (GSAP) team is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering Catalina’s global security, privacy, and data governance compliance programs. With data governance, security, risk and privacy concerns so prevalent, Catalina’s GSAP organization’s mission is to protect Catalina’s brand by identifying and reducing risk across the enterprise to improve: data quality,  levels of privacy, cybersecurity, and resilience. GSAP will identify data use issues, risks, recommend solutions, and handle investigations, breaches, and incidents to ensure Catalina’s data is of high fidelity and that there is a trusted and private environment that provides Catalina and Catalina clients the freedom to innovate, grow, pursue strategic goals, and to do business anywhere and anytime.

This position will report to the VP, Security and Privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for helping to define and develop new business processes for successful data governance within the organization.

  • Maintain data related standards, policies, and procedures to minimize risk derived from the mis-use of data.

  • Responsible for developing, leading and further enhancing the Information Governance.

  • Champion the communication of the value of data governance to stakeholders as well as provide education of data governance while increasing the organizations data literacy.

  • Serve as the primary point of responsibility, accountability and activity monitoring as it relates to the assessment, improvement and governance of fitness-for-purpose of the organization’s critical information assets.

  • Monitor information related standards, policies, and procedures to minimize risk and deliver business value.

  • Responsible for the development of standards, tools, and governance for capturing, modeling, storing, and delivering data for the enterprise.

  • Responsible for Data Governance Council, roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement data usage, policies, standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets

  • Responsible for Enhancements and Project Engagement.

  • Make recommendations for solution purchases by identifying both the budgetary and technological impact

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead data governance changes

  • Leadership role on data projects and business activities around data quality improvement.

  • Lead Business Intelligence initiatives from strategy through implementation

  • Develop and implement the Catalina operating model for internal development & support of data warehouse & BI.

  • Create staffing models and detailed role descriptions

  • Provide education for stakeholders from C-Suite to end-users.

  • Define data stewardship and data governance processes

  • Establish and maintain critical data element inventories, dictionaries and associated business rules, internal control requirements and lineage documentation

  • Ensure appropriate data standards and control processes are implemented across business operations

  • Provide oversight and independent challenge through management review and discussions

  • Accountable for the implementation and enforcement of enterprise -wide policies and standards in adherence to the established data strategy

  • Accountable for global compliance to Data Quality, Data Governance, Business Data Management

  • Accountable for global communication, change management and educational efforts

  • Accountable for global operational aspects of Data Governance and Data Quality activities

  • Accountable for an up-to-date data repository for business rules, terms, metadata, reference data & master data

  • Accountable for enabling the standardized capture, access, storage, movement, and publication of data across all global integrated systems

  • Expected travel 10% or less

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, post-graduate degree preferred

  • 8-10 years of related experience, International data governance experience preferred

  • In depth Knowledge of enterprise data management

  • Strong working knowledge of standard Business Data Management frameworks

  • Master/Metadata experience in industry

  • Proven leadership capabilities in data management context

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at senior levels, build deep relationships with various business groups

People leadership:

  • Excellent client relationship skills at the project leadership level, demonstrated effective teamwork, and a track record of consistently exceeding goals

  • Ability to attract, retain, engage and develop teams in a fast-paced, transformational environment

  • Ensure there is a focus on accountability and performance, with clear line of sight between organization strategy and individual goals
