We're looking for an exceptional and motivated Automation Test EngineerII to work on software applications that reach retailers and shoppers across the globe. The Catalina team offers a creative, fast-paced, startup-like work environment. You will apply automated software testing principles/practices combined with best-in-breed testing workflows to analyze and troubleshoot complex data sets and systems on the Azure platform. Part of your daily routine will be collaborating with team members across the globe; reviewing system architectures and detailed user stories to build test plans, write clear test cases and run automation scripts, track and facilitate defect resolutions, and apply analytical problem-solving skills by collaborating with business and technical staff throughout the testing process within an Agile SDLC.

Responsibilities

  • Hands on Design test plans, scenarios, automation scripts, or procedures for application & data level systems; Participate in all automation activities including performance, load, scalability, and functional testing.

  • Contribute to the establishment of and adherence to testing guidelines and standards as defined by Catalina.

  • Mentor other tester resources in defining the development of automated scripts and maintain an understanding of how to support/execute scripts.

  • Lead and participate in all aspects of test planning, including Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective); Collaborate with employees across the Test Organization on Regression, Integration, and Functional Test Cases to meet release and project deliverables.

  • Utilize risk management skills to perform effective testing to optimize release time to market

  • Assist management in project planning and tracking

  • Prepare and analyze test results to aid in problem solving and to facilitate decision making by management

  • Partner with test support teams, business areas, and IT to ensure testing goals, objectives, and expectations are effectively met across organizations.

  • Continue developing testing skills through Training and MS Azure certifications (Training Costs Paid by Catalina).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in application and data level automation testing

  • Automation framework development; Azure platform: Azure Notebook, Azure DevOps, Databricks, Yellowbrick,

  • Usage of and/or certifications in Cloud based Architecture (Azure, Yellowbrick); Preferred

  • Programming/Scripting Languages Preferred, Python / Azure Notebook

  • Experience utilizing industry standard Agile tools and test case repository management; Thorough understanding and experience with Agile

  • Experience & understanding of API testing, integration and unit testing in all layers would be a plus.

  • Experience in leveraging Risk management skills in performing effective testing to optimize release time to market

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex testing scenarios and defects

  • Strong Familiarity with Virtual Test environments and configurations, Cloud-based testing as well as data quality validation.  

  • Core strengths must include excellent communication and coordination skills inclusive of team leadership, relationship management and mentoring
