Learning and Development Specialist
The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist will be a member of the Global Learning and Development team, also known as Catalina University, and will play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and continuous maintenance of our business’ L&D programs. Responsibilities will include the design, delivery and administration of select training activities, the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), the assistance with large scale sessions, events and engagement programs and the offer of expertise in identifying, researching and offering solutions to address potential opportunities for increased efficiencies and engagement with learning activities. The position will report to the Executive Director, Global Leadership and Organization Development.
This team is a key contributor to the transformation of Catalina’s culture to support its strategy and strategy execution and to developing talent to drive strategy execution. The team is responsible for engaging employees and helping them with the learning and resources they need to perform to their full potential and thrive personally and professionally.
Acts as an LMS administrator responsible for updating the look and feel of the application, maintaining user records, scheduling instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual-led training (VLT) sessions, uploading content, running reports, troubleshooting end user issues and enhancing the overall capability of the Workday system
Designs, develops, facilitates and administers several impactful and engaging virtual or in-person sessions per year applying adult learning methodology
Develops, implements and manages global learning and/or compliance processes to address specific needs of the business
May partner with select client groups to assess internal needs and deliver L&D solutions for the department
Assists and helps manage companywide employee Engagement Survey, analytics and action planning
Helps manage communications and logistics for large scale ILT and VLT sessions
Performs administrative tasks as needed and in support of the department such as monitoring costs within budget, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, uploading new employee information into required systems, coordinating curriculum enrollment, acting as SharePoint site owner for Catalina University sites, monitoring departmental email inbox and responding to/forwarding messages as appropriate
Partners with the other Catalina University team members to consistently identify new training approaches, practices and processes to improve efficiency of learning & development for Catalina.
Bachelor’s degree in business, education or related field required
A minimum of 5 years of experience in coordinating, training and learning management
Experience utilizing and administering learning management system technologies
Workday experience strongly preferred, especially Workday Learning
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent organizational skills and managing multiple priorities
Outstanding written, oral and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail
Project management skills preferred
Ability to conduct virtual/classroom training and facilitate meetings
Strong business acumen
Ability to build relationships and partner with employees at all levels in the organization
