OUR TEAM

The Retail Analytics team provides analyses, insights, and recommendations that address the business needs of the Catalina retail sales team or the retail client, in support of internal strategic projects and client initiatives.  These analyses, insights, and recommendations—whether based on standard reports or custom analyses—should serve as the basis for discussions with the retail sales team and client and provide actionable insights and recommendations that address client strategies, initiatives, and objectives. 

The position reports to the Executive Director of Retail Analytics. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical insights that identify and quantify business opportunities to improve shopper campaign performance and drive new client initiatives

  • Provide targeting solutions that optimize the client’s strategies and consumer value propositions

  • Drive innovation through thought leadership enhancing campaign solutions by working directly with key client stakeholders.

  • Analyze consumer data to provide digital/in-store campaign measurement (test vs control), insights, and recommendations, and clearly present findings to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Deliver standard and/or custom reports for audiences targeting, insights, and measurements

  • Develop reusable and maintainable python code for standard and/or custom campaign analysis that provides analytical solutions to campaign management

  • Integrate consumer data from different types of data storage platforms using Python, Yellowbrick, and Cloud computing environment - Azure/Databricks

  • Partner with Retail Analytics and Sales teams to build relationships with key contacts on client accounts

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, Marketing Research, or other related quantitative fields (Data Sciences, etc.) AND 3+ years of experience in a quantitative, analytical capacity; OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree (same disciplines mentioned above) AND 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • 3+ years of working experience in a client-facing environment; Excellent communication skills and ability to present analytical findings to key client stakeholders

  • 3+ years of experience preferred in advanced Python development (ie pandas), SQL, and development of visualization data in Power BI

  • Strong command of quantitative methods and statistical applications

  • Advanced Modeling and segmentation experience

  • Ability to rapidly develop sufficient familiarity with proprietary data systems and IT infrastructure to extract data needed to support quantitative research projects 

  • Previous experience analyzing digital promotional data within a CPG, retail, or data-driven environment helpful

  • Experience preferred with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Databricks); PySpark, Snowflake

  • Experience preferred with Git and/or committing to large open-source projects

  • Working experience with SAS a plus
